Currier Abstract Company, NSL, Artesia, New Mexico, was founded by George Currier in 1939. He was joined by his son "Chili" in 1946. In 1969, Chili expanded the business by purchasing Guaranty Title Company in Carlsbad. Chili's son, Mike, took over management of the Carlsbad office in 1978. Mike's brother, Cliff, took over management of the Artesia office in 1992. The corporation is now completely owned by the two brothers. Currier Abstract Company in Artesia and Currier Abstract Company d/b/a Guaranty Title Company in Carlsbad, specialize in title records, title research and evaluation, title abstracting, title insurance and closing of all types of real estate transactions for Eddy County, New Mexico. Both offices are staffed with nine well trained employees who are familiar with title research, evaluation and reporting for the entire County of Eddy. Although the offices are located in two different towns in Eddy County, they function as one corporation using one federal tax identification number. Mike & Cliff and all of the employees are proud of the fact that their offices have been owned and managed by the same family for an excess of sixty years.
